Clare Michelsen T.C.R.G., B.Ed., Dip.T.
Clare is a registered teacher with the Irish Dancing Commission in Ireland and has 25 years of experience teaching in secondary catholic schools. Currently she is also a Business and IT teacher at All Hallows’ School. Her own solo dance experience spans over 25 years. She has been Queensland Irish Dancing State Champion three times, and her best achievement at National level was 8th. As well as this competitive edge, she has danced with many overseas and Australian Irish bands, regularly performed at Expo, Warana Festivals and parades, numerous St Patrick’s Day events and much, much more. Combine this performance experience with the many musical productions and speech nights which she has produced and choreographed during her teaching years, and you will discover a creative teacher with a vast knowledge of production and performance. Clare is passionate about providing dance to young people in an environment that builds self-esteem and confidence. She believes that you don’t have to be the best at what you do, you just have to give your best. This is the discipline upon which her dance school is built.

 

Stefanie Samuels  Bachelor of Music Theatre
Stefanie has been dancing her way across the stage since the age of four. She has been trained in Ballet, Tap and Jazz and has completed all exams in FATD (Tap), Primary to Supreme being awarded with Honours with Distinction. She has competed at many eisteddfods and won Most Outstanding Dance Performer award in 2004 at the Gladstone Eisteddfod. Stefanie has just graduated with a Bachelor of Musical Theatre and has performed in many productions as a lead dancer. Dancing has taught her discipline, structure and poise. She is looking forward to imparting this knowledge onto her students!!

 

 

Joanne Steckelbruck A.D.C.R.G., T.C.R.G.
Irish dancing has been part of Joanne's life since she was 7 years old. She was the Queensland champion all through her competitive dancing career and was placed in the top 7 at the Australian Championships she attended, 4th being her highest placing. Jo qualified and registered in Ireland as an Irish dance teacher and adjudicator in 1982. She has 10 years experience as a dance teacher and has enjoyed the privilege of adjudicating in Australia and New Zealand for the past 25 years. She has also been President of the Australian Irish Dancing Association (Queensland branch) for many years. Jo loves to teach dancing and enjoys the excitement in the dancers as they master the craft. Watching the dancers' confidence and self-esteem grow is what she enjoys the most.

Anne Grant B.Ed., Dip.T.
Anne is currently a secondary school dance teacher at Kelvin Grove State College and her involvement in dance began with 14 years of ballet training in Canberra. After a year in Edinburgh at a full time Dance and Drama School she returned to QUT to complete the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance and a Diploma of Education. She then spent seven wonderful years in Cairns teaching dance at Trinity Bay State High School and then transferred to Kelvin Grove. During this time she has choreographed seven Rock Eisteddfods and six musicals and is passionate about extending students through these activities. She loves choreographing and performing Contemporary dance as well as all of the styles her job entails. “My love of teaching is renewed every time I see a student perform to the best of their ability and feel proud of what they do. That’s what I hope to see in my classes”.
